Young Professionals

New hires are called “Young Professionals” and “Talents” nowadays. Generation Y approaches life and work in a different way, the older generations notice. They are global, don’t seem to care that much about organisational hierarchy and long for social networking.

By placing these talented people under our wings, through coaching and mentoring, we help these “new kids on the block”, who by the way one day soon will become our new leaders!

But.. TUS sees it every day and in all organisations. Young professionals are not only in need of mentoring or work related coaching. They wish to increase both their professional as personal effectiveness. Nine out of ten young professionals tell they are not receiving the coaching they need - even when the company has a mentoring or coaching program in place!

Young professionals are change-minded and it’s our responsibility they learn to effectively manage and influence change. First of all, by learning all about themselves and helping them developing and maximizing the talents they have.

Liliane Rausch coached hundreds of young professionals as of 1990. In 2007 she became responsible for the recruitment of over 400 talented people and the development of a corporate program she called AIR: Attraction, Induction and Retention. Based on interviewing thousands of young as well as experienced people in organisations, she holds the opinion that “Program AIR” could be just “Program A” as in “attention”: Talent management is all about authentic attention - truly listening to young professionals’ needs. Furthermore, she has proven that the needs of experienced professionals do not differ that much from those of young professionals, classified under labels such as X and Y. “Labels make groups of people special, which is fine, but labels also differentiate and exclude other groups. I think Program A, talent management, should also be for experienced professionals. Maybe we should call these experienced experts generation E and our senior professionals generation S - to indicate how important they also are for the continuity and growth of our businesses  and economy”.

If you would like to coach your “X, Y, S and E” professionals effectively, contact (T)US for more information on TUS’ talent management Program A.
