Building Your own Company Inward Out

The decision to start your own company usually is a process. For most people, the dream of creating a business of their own, has been on their mind for a long time. There are many resources out there that can help and support you. Creating a support team around you is one of the most important first steps: to bounce off your ideas and get assistance in the fields of financing, marketing, sales, etcetera. Becoming an entrepreneur is exciting and at times stressful and these emotions can get immensely in the way of your actions. So, make sure to get to know your goal, make a businessplan, review your plan as you learn and make sure to stick to it! A businessplan will assist you through all the necessary steps you have to follow, giving you content to hold on to. However, there are many things you need to know about the human dynamics of entrepreneurship- often not covered by your businessplan. Nine important things to think about:

1. Take your time to think about your ideas: What is it exacly you wish to do? Take time off, exercise, let the ideas come to you and trust yourself: your ideas will come, even when you are not consciously thinking about your company.

2. Use “You” as a basis for your company-to-be: What are your passions and talents? Many people forget, building a company is looking inward, not outward! Ask people around you what they think your talents are. Furthermore, make sure you know yourself. Many companies do not succeed, because we ourselves have thoughts and emotions that get in our way. Focus on your dreams and goals and make sure you are aware of influences within you that are destructive to your Ultimate Self!

3. Marketing and marketing tools: Who are going to be your clients? What’s your brand? How will you market? Imagine yourself to be your client, in all you do! Think about the difference between marketing your services and goods versus marketing your talents!

4. Consider using online tools, such as websites, blogs - align all these tools towards your key concept.

5. Make sure you don’t get influenced out there by the many services offered. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

6. Watch your financial budget and stick to it!

7. Network: get to know people in the (related) fields of your services, ask for support, go “windowshopping” to see what’s out there already.

8. Make notes of your progress: at time you will feel frustrated, because it all seems to take so long. Your notes will remember: “ You are doing it!”

9. Set your fees based on the added value of your services, your talents and the high-end quality you offer. Don’t base your fees on low self-confidence or a desperate need to earn money.

TUS coaches you in setting up your company and helping you(r company) getting through challenging times. We help you manage the entrepreneurial process you are going through; make you aware of your talents; review and strengthen your market presence and online tools and guide you towards success.
